To focus, we zoom in on what matters most, so that, over time, we will reap substantial benefits. We do all that is necessary to lead a balanced life by removing anything that hinders our work or our goals. God has placed us on this earth for a short period, and He would have us move intentionally,living on purpose rather than embracing this world of greed and self-gratification. A fulfilling life has a different meaning for everyone because we are uniquely made. However, focus provides contentment and satisfaction as we live our lives with legacy in mind. It is one thing to complete self-centered projects. It is another thing to leave a footprint in every environment available to us while working with perspective in mind.
“F” is for Faith which allows us to walk with caution and yield to the God of the Universe. It gives us the perfect connection needed when all else fails. Faith is believing that God can do what you cannot do. Yes, we physically move, but with His approval. He gives us the courage as we move intentionally.
“O” is for Objectives. What goals do you have in mind? Where are you headed? Know your target, so that you can aim with clarity and measure your steps carefully.
“C” is for Calling. If you are alive, you have a calling on your life. Calling is placed in your heart from birth. God uses our stories, family and friendships, and environments, to verify our calling. Scripture says, "It is He that has made us, and not we ourselves." Even if you have come from the worst upbringing, and it seems that no one has fought for you, you, my dear friend, have a calling. It may take time for you to understand what it is, but return to “Faith” and seek God’s wisdom in the matter, and I promise you, He will hear your voice!
“U” is for Understanding. Our past and present learning experiences are meant to help us connect the dots in life. Yes, the good, bad, and ugly help us to better understand who we are, how we are wired, and why we exist. Having this knowledge provides compassion and understanding for others and the world we live in.
“S” is for Sense. Common sense and sense of direction come from bumps, bruises, and the wounds we encounter. These devastating turns of life provide daily lessons that lead us to intuition and wisdom, which in turn inform sound judgment in our decisions. Without it, we would never accomplish anything!
If you find yourself slipping into unfocused modes, immediately get back on track and move toward Faith in God, Objectives in your Calling, Understanding of self and others, and common Sense and a Sense of direction leading to a fulfilled life.
Proverbs 4:25 says, "Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you."
