ATTITUDE: 8 Tips to Boost Your Attitude

Have you been caught off guard by an unexpected, irresponsible, or sarcastic comment or remark that you didn't flinch at, but that still bothered you? You began to lose focus on your intended ideology and purpose, but after rethinking the situation, you regained renewed focus because you decided you must rise above the remark, which was beyond your circumstances and control. Your thoughts toward that situation and person have now changed as you regroup and move intentionally with renewed strength, now praying for the person and making a conscious decision to be a model for change. In his book, Attitude is Everything, Jeff Keller says, “You can't always control circumstances. But you can control your thoughts." Your attitude determines your outcome. We have a choice to fall prey to the insecurities of others or to rise above the situation, putting on faith, courage, and strength.
Keep in mind, life is not about what someone else is doing; it is about maintaining focus on your goals and appreciating how God is leading you. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, "... casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." Changing our thoughts is vital to be productive and responsible with our attitude and actions. So, let's be the change in someone else's future, rather than succumb to another's pessimistic conditioning.
Remember the below 8 tips as you move along, keeping your potential and purpose in mind.
Tip #1 - Be Approachable!
Approachability displays compassion, kindheartedness, and understanding. Without it, one cannot fulfill one's full purpose.
Tip #2 - Be Thoughtful!
Thoughtfulness allows one to create, build, and extend his or her plans. It is patient, precautionary, and persistent. Thoughtfulness prepares one for the next level steps. It is reassuring and convincing.
Tip #3 - Be Teachable!
To be teachable is an admission that "I don't know everything. It leaves room for adjustments, preparation, and expansion in life. Teachability displays a readiness to learn. So, be teachable.
Tip #4 - Be Intentional!
Intentionality creates continuity in purpose. Rid yourself of all distractions and focus on what is in front of you and what is ahead. In these actions, you will further your goals and ensure success. Be intentional!
Tip #5 - Be Thankful!
Thankfulness is displayed quietly as contentment. Or, moderately displayed in a kind-hearted action. It can also be vocally expressed, extending praise. Be thankful.
Tip #6 - Be Understanding!
Understanding prevents apathy. It is a course of action displaying empathy and compassion for others. It is warm, sensitive, and inspiring! So, be understanding.
Tip #7 - Be Determined!
Determination furthers momentum. It says, "I love what I'm doing, and I'm getting there." It realizes perfection isn't a goal, but continuance is essential. So be determined, no matter what the cost.
