![]() Are you striving? To strive means to "make great efforts to achieve or sustain something or to struggle or fight vigorously" (Oxford Languages). As we strive, we keep the central goal in mind while maintaining focus, determination, and intentionality to move ahead. When my family would run 3.1 miles throughout the year, we all had different goals. When I started, I would walk the distance, but soon after, I alternated between walking and running. My goal was persistence, not competition. My goal was to be diligent in what I had started, even if I slowed down. My target of focus was not to watch the other walkers or runners. It was about my individual race and the pride, stamina, and confidence I would gain from it. A non-competitive race is like life's journey. We gain ground, and we slow down. We do not look to the left or right, but do whatever it takes to reach our goal.
I like to think of the word "strive" as a persistent step forward. We have options even when we are distracted, so we do not have to be deterred. We determine our outcome, even when others discount our steps. Keep in mind the plan laid before you, and you will maintain joy in what you are doing. "Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value" (Albert Einstein).
Below are six tips to STRIVE.
Striving produces strength, character, and further purpose. If you need us, we are here. Blessings upon Blessings!
