DRIVE

Are you losing your drive? Drive allows us to focus on new goals, projects, ventures, etc. It is the motivation or energy behind fulfilling our call or completing a task. For several reasons, one can become discouraged or lack enthusiasm while pursuing the above. I'll list three. 1. Overwhelm and uncertainty: Overwhelm and uncertainty come with any new operation/project because of the unknown and high expectations. 2. Lack of patience: Patience allows us to appreciate the process and reconsider the structure. 3. Lack of immediate results: If the progress is slow or the results are differential, this can be discouraging. However, perseverance is key. 4. Lack of flexibility: One must be willing to make changes or seek help. Many people have done what you are doing. So, a change in perspective and support may be needed. An objective viewpoint can make a difference. 5. The struggle in accomplishment: Keep in mind that goals are not achieved without struggle. "If you believe in a God who controls the big things, you have to believe in a God who controls the little things. It is we, of course, to whom things look 'little' or 'big'" (Elisabeth Elliot). So, sort out the struggle and do whatever it takes to get back on track. Your motivation will catch up as you forge ahead.

I'm encouraged by Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." If the Lord has placed a plan in your heart and allows you to begin a work, why wouldn't he see to it that this plan is accomplished?
I pray you trust God's wisdom in all matters of life. After all, He is the driver; we are just the willing workers. "Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands" (Psalm 90:17).
